How to Get Back Into a Workout Routine After Taking a Break

It's a lot easier to pick up an ice cream cone instead of a barbell while on vacation. We're in the deep days of summer and if you've had a break from working out, don't worry - you're not alone. Even though it can be tough to get back into a routine after taking some time off, it's definitely doable. Here are some tips to help you get back on track:

• Start slow and ease your way back in. If you try to do too much too soon, you'll likely end up getting injured or burned out.

• Set realistic goals for yourself. Trying to lose 20 pounds or add 20 pounds of muscle in a month is probably not going to happen and will only set you up for disappointment.

• Find a workout buddy. Having someone to hold you accountable can be a huge help.

• Set aside time for your workouts. If you don't make time for it, it's not going to happen.
